However, in this case it shows that Matthew was married to a mary Ann - but 3 of the 4 brides on the page were called Mary Ann!  possible brides: BATES, Mary Ann; LITTLEWOOD, Mary Ann; SMEDLEY, Mary Ann Fortunately this marriage was in London (the area covered by the LMA) and with the records on Ancestry it is clear that Matthew married Mary Ann BATES.
