Thomas GOTTAM
Set As Default Person -
Name Thomas GOTTAM Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1806 Hinstock, Shropshire, England
- From the 1851, 1861 and 1871 censues, where shown as 54, 64 and 74. The age given when his dath was registered also points to 1806 or early 1807. His baptism suggests 1811, since no age or date of birth was given, as was the norm when a baptism was not of a young baby, but it was the same day as his sister Ann; unless they were twins it does suggest one of them was older and that the norm of birth information was omitted. (Unfortunately at present nothing more is known of Ann, so it is not known if she claimed an age pointing to a baptism as a babt).
Baptised 20 Jan 1811 St. Oswald's Church, Hinstock, Shropshire, England
Gender Male Occupation 1839 Farm servant - At the time of his wedding
Residence From 1871 to 1874 Bucknall, Staffordshire, England
- From the 1871 census and probate calendar entry
Will 31 Jan 1871 Written Died 8 Mar 1874 Bucknall, Staffordshire, England
- Date and place from probate calendar entry
That shows that although the age doesn't quite match with baptism, but does with the age claimed in the censuses. The death registration was this one:
