      "Name: Josephine Gottam No. 498, Abode: Alder Hey Hospital West Derby, buried: June 3rd [1916], age: 4 Ms, by whom the ceremony was performed: W. Dinsdale Young. [in the right margin] Cg. 367. 36.X. 5/-"

      Of the 16 burials on the 2 page spread 11 were infants (aged 17 days to 3 years), 1 was of a 16 year old and just 4 were adults (aged   49, 62, 62 and 68). A fee shown was 10/- or £2 for the 16 year old and adults, but 5-- for all of the infants. Two abodes were workhouses (infants aged 5 months and 3 years so it doesn't appear that their mothers were just there for the births); of the remaining 14 Josephine was one of just 3 to die in hospital.
