      I think it was this George who married Mary Denton as there don't appear to have been any other Georges in the Liverpool area at this time who were old enough.
      There was a death of a Mary Ann Gotham in 1916 which would leave this George free to marry again as he appears to have done in 1917.

      Assuming Denton was Mary Ann's maiden name this marriage appears to have been childless.
      Denton seems a Northamptonshire surname; three Mary Ann Dentons born around the right time, all in that county. None found living in the Liverpool area in the 1911 census.
      A married Mary Ann Denton was in Hartlepool in 1911, but that marriage seems to have continued well beyond 1912.
      Could probably only identify which Mary Ann Denton was in this marriage by getting a copy of the marriage certificate.

      Although the Lancashire BMD website shows Gertrude's surname as MILFORD the census suggests this is an error; there is a Gertrude Mitford who fits neatly, but not a Gertrude Milford. Also, her will clearly names a sister as a Mitford and the family matches that found in the censuses etc.
