    • There is no sign of a death registration of a Fritz Ormond Firth, nor with admittedly quick looks at indexes including other countries is there anything to suggest he had emigrated.
      'Fritz' must have been a difficult name to have during WW1 so I suspect he changed it then and I believe the following is his death registration:
      GRO ref: Firth, Frederick O q4 1937 aged 62 Liverpool North RD 8b 588; GRO online index shows middle name as Ormond
      A good though not perfect age (Fritz would actually have been 61), a likely location and most importantly the unusual middle name point to this being Fritz's death.
      Checking the index of birth registrations, the births of no other F O Firths were registered in England or Wales, 1870-1880.
