(there are two register entries. A Parish Register is by definition a register for baptisms in a particular parish, not a particular church. However, mostly baptisms will have been in the church, the only church, in the parish if not privately at home - and most of the latter may have been noted as such. However if there was another church or chapel a baptism might be there. In this case there was such a church, St. Barnabas Church in St. John's Parish, and the baptism was recorded both in a register of baptisms specifically for St. Barnabas Church and one for the whole parish).
    Gender Male
Military Service Between 1914 and 1919
    WW1
    Occupation From 1921 to 1928
    Motor driver
    • Clearly a motor driver in 1921 and still in 1939, so presumably the whole time inbetween, he need not have been working for the same company the whole time - though it seems likely he did.

Simply shown as a motor driver at the time of his marriage and in the 1939 register, except the latter showed him as dealing with heavy goods and thus doing 'heavy work', with the more detailed detail of being a lorry driver for wireworks on his son's death registration (1928) and as working for Rylands Bros. Wire Works in 1921 which described him as 'Motor Driver Vehicle'. Did the place of work in 1921 indicate he was moving goods around the works rather than moving raw materials into the works or wire out to where it was needed? It might, but I think it unsafe to assume this.
