  	GRO ref: Gotham, Hugh q1 1908 W. Derby RD 8b 455; GRO online index shows mother's maiden name as Matthews A twin, I'm assuming he was born the same day as his twin.
  Baptised	There is a single entry in the burial register for Hugh and his twin, indicating age at death as 5 days, which presumably applied to both. Strangely, though, a baptism register has an entry for Hugh's twin Harold but not for Hugh. It's hard to imagine why he couldn't have been baptised, unless in hospital while Harold was at home. Maybe the priest forgot, or maybe Hugh's life had seemed more precarious at birth and he had been baptised immediately (Harold was baptised at 3 days old) and either not recorded or not in the same register.

Derby RD 8b 677 Local (Lancashire) BMD registration index: GOTHAM, Matthew to MATTHEWS, Mary E 1895 Church: Everton, St. Peter; Registers at: Liverpool; Ref: 2085WD/9/83 Details from PR entry (image on Ancestry, viewed 5 Dec 2014)  The 1911 census shows that Matthew and Mary had had 7 children but only 3 remained alive; May, Matthew and Frederick I believe the other 4 were as shown. Esther (Hester) was alive and with them at the time of the 1901 census but not one of the surviving 3 with them in 1911. The other 3 appear to be the only 3 Gothams to be born and die in West Derby RD between 1895 and 1911.  There was also a Charles who was born and died in Liverpool Reg District, but as that would make one too many and all the other children births and deaths were in West Derby RD I think Charles was not the son of Matthew and Mary.
