Gender Female Residence From 1851 to 1861 21, Ashton Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England - Jane was at this address at the time of the 1851 and 1861 censuses. She probably remained her until shortly before her death, as on 16 March 1871, in her will, she is described as 'of 27 Ashton Street'. She could have moved a few doors, or the street been renumbered, but I think it more likely that 21 was mis-read as 27 when the register copy was made.
In 1851 she was shown as of independent means, but had four lodger which must have helped provide some income.
Will 16 Mar 1871 Written - All the bequests are to Jane's family, none to her late husband's family.
Residence From 2 Apr 1871 to 2 Aug 1871 58, Tillotson Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England - In the fortnight or so between Jane writing her will and the 1871 census, taken on the night of 2nd / 3rd April, Jane had moved to Tillotson Street, where she was recorded as a lodger.
This was her home address at the time of her death.

Dent was where Jane's brother Rowland had lived; although he predeceased her I guess there were other family members still there who she she was staying with when she died.

I looked at this family in the hope it would lead me to the marriage of daughter Jane. (I had hoped it would enable me to establish whether the John that Jane married was, as I show, John George, born Teignmouth but I was happy that it was from other sources before I found the marriage of John and Jane).
Most of this family are known of through being mentioned in Jane's will.

Family John George GOTHAM, b. 19 Sep 1796, (probably), West Teignmouth, Devon, England , d. 1842, On the brig Jane, Between Plymouth (England) and Lisbon, At Sea (Age 45 years) Married 15 Feb 1824 St. Oswald’s Church, Thornton in Lonsdale, Yorkshire, England - John and Jane were together and both shown with the surname Gotham at the time of the 1841 census; from 1851 onwards she was shown as a widow. Her will shows her family.
The Lancaster Gazette, 28 Feb 1824 recorded:
"On the 15th inst. at Thornton-in-Lonsdale, Mr.
John J. Gotham, master of the ship Hippocampi,
of Dartmouth, to Miss Tatham, daughter of Mr.
James Tatham, of Burton-in-Lonsdale."
