Died 29 Jun 1861 Ashcombe, Devon, England
Cause: Pnemonia (8 days) - Date from announcement in the Exeter and Plymouth Gazette of 5 July 1861:
'Bussell. - June 28, at Ashcombe, Mr. William Bussell, yeoman, aged 35 years.'
GRO ref: Bussell, William Harris q2 1861 St Thomas RD 5b 58; GRO online index shows age as 35
Details from death registration (GRO register entry).
Date in probate calendar entry which (unusually) said he died 'on or about 29 June 1861' - why the uncertainty? The cause of death suggests he would have died at home, not out and about with his body found later. Maybe those who had gone to prove the will simply forgotten?
Whilst he could have died overnight in his sleep, possibly on the 28th, possibly the 29th, the death registration shows that Andrew Foss, the informant, was present, which seems to suggest the time of death would have been known. But maybe he was dozing in a chair by William's bedside.
William's father-in-law was called Andrew, the informant was most likely him. (Although his wife had had two brothers called Andrew, one had died as a baby and the other in 1857, aged 9, so the informant cannot have been either of them).

Possibly the briefest marriage in the Go(a)tham One-Name Study. Tragically, William was buried just a fortnight to the day after the marriage.
