Actual date from probate calendar, although that shows the death in 2003 I think this must be an error.
Although the death index entry has a middle name not in the marriage index, and this Edna appears to be some years older than James, it does seem to be the correct Edna. This is not just due to the area in which she died and the rarity of the name 'Edna GOTHAM', which both support it, but also Edna had the middle initial 'R' in the 1939 register where listed with James, and the date of birth given for her there was 12 Dec, although that shows the year as 1910.
