  	Although the second born of six siblings, by the time Dorothy wrote her will she was the sole survivor. She made a couple of bequests to friends, but most of her estate was left to her family. Her main beneficiaries were her nephews, her niece and a sister-in-law were each left £500 and her nieces-in-law and great nephew and nieces were to receive £150 each. There were no bequests to any charities or church, which may have given an insight to Dorothy's concerns or interests. The pre-dominance of family bequests may suggest it was her family who were her prime interest, but all but her niece lived at some distance, one nephew and his family (including her sister-in-law) in Essex, the other nephew and family in Australia.
