    • Joan was left £5 by her son.
      Given that a wife had no right to own property at this time it is interesting that William made separate bequests to his father and mother; presumably he trusted his father to allow his mother to make use of the bequest to her. The bequest being only a third of that to his father may simply reflect the latter's greater financial responsibilities, rather than an indication he thought much more of his father.

    • Chancery Court case in 1632 describes John's wife being alive in 1627 though dying between then and date of bill in the case, 19 June 1632, by which time John had remarried.
      * Jane could have died at an earlier date, living when her son William wrote his will in 1612/13, but it is possible she had died and John remarried between then and 1627 *
