- In May 1547 John's father Thomas mentioned him and his brother in answering questions put relating to an accusation of riot etc. in a case brought against him in the Court of Star Chamber.
Thomas says that the previous Lammas (1st August 1546) he and his sons had reaped some corn; I am guessing that the sons would need to be aged at least about 12 to be named in connection with this work, hence born before about 1534.
They could, of course, have been quite a bit older.
