  	From estimated date of marriage, based on number of children born before 1516. As we get further back it generally becomes harder and harder to be sure of links to parents. It is clear from his will that Robert had a son Thomas but was it this Thomas or were there others with the same name in Lyminge at the time? This link is tentative, but seems likely. Robert appears (from his supposed father John's will - though that assumes there was only the one Robert who could have been the son of John) to have been an only child. In this case Thomas would have had no Sladen 1st cousins, but he gave the names of his supposed father / known brothers to his sons. If Thomas did have a 2nd or more distant cousin there is less chance of the same names being used, although they were quite common ones.
