    • Like his brother Robert Henry, 'Charles' joined up as a boy, his service beginning on 23 Nov 1880. Again like his brother he had given a date of birth making him a year younger than he actually was, and on his supposed eighteenth birthday signed up for 10 years. Unlike his brother, sadly this was not to be extended as he died before the first 10 year period was up.

      To make matters confusing:
      In the St. Thomas RD of Exeter in Q1 1850 a Selina CASLEY married one Robert William OSBORNE.

      This couple were of similar ages to the Selina and Robert Osborn on this tree, though with different birthplaces, occupation and children. Despite the differences some have muddled these 2 couples.
