This shows Richard Loyond [sic] bachelor married Alice Hardman widow by Banns
Separated Abt 1843 - The newspaper reports when Richard was charged with bigamy report that Richard and Alice did not live upon the best of terms, and in 1843 Richard left Alice, and went to reside at Warrington. He claimed he had left her because she allowed another man to take liberties with her.
This may be true, but it is noticeable that Richard's following 3 relationships were all with men a good number of years younger than him, so maybe he was no longer happy with Alice, a year or so his senior, leading to her straying. Who knows? - we can only speculate.
