"Novembr 26 Buried Jacob Jeseph of Torbryan / Killed at Holledge Gate" - under heading 'Denbury Burials for the year 1741'
The 'killed ...' part of the entry appears to have been added later as the ink is a different colour; it is possibly in a different hand but one that appears contempory with the entry.
A quick Google / search of the Devon Archives catalogue does not provide any information about this event. Does 'killed' imply 'murdered', or was it manslaughter e.g. did he die in a fight? Or was it a total accident - killed by a fall from a horse, or by a bull, or ...?
I think this burial was probably this Jacob though it could have been his father. No other entry found that could refer to either of them (in index on FMP, Nov 2019; maybe the other was in a parish not yet indexed on FMP).
It seems more likely that a young man would be killed than an older one, and in either case what happened to the other? - Jacob senior may have moved to another parish. This Jacob probably remained in Torbryan since his widow was 'of' the parish when she remarried. On the other hand, the baptism of his son Samuel does not record him as deceased (though his death would explain why there were no more children after Samuel). Also, we might have expected a widow with young children to have remarried more quickly than Mary did.
