  Notes	(Research):Some trees show that George Emmerson married Anne Stot in Durham Cathedral on 24 May 1719. Such a marriage is recorded in the transcript of the Cathedral PRs by Edward Arthur White, which can be seen on < a href="https://www.familysearch.org/library/books/records/item/39711-the-baptismal-marriage-and-burial-registers-of-the-cathedral-church-of-christ-and-blessed-mary-the-virgin-at-durham-1609-1896-vol-23?viewer=1&offset=0#page=70&viewer=picture&o=info&n=0&q=">FamilySearch. However, with both shown as 'of the Parish of Woolsingham' there is no reason to believe it was this George. A quick search on Durham Records Online shows that there were quite a number of George Emmersons in Co. Durham at this period. There seems to be no good reason to think this George on my tree was from Wolsingham, especially as with PRs not surviving from before 1720 he could well have always lived in Tanfield parish.
