"James Sturges of the Busy=Cutter & Margaret Esall of this Parish were
Married in this Church by Banns No. 734
this First Day of March in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred
and Four By me John Gandy, Vicar
This Marriage was solemnized between Us James Sturges, The Mark + of Mary Esall
In the Presence of Joshua George, Thos. Richard"
Sturges was not a common name and there is a burial of a Margaret Sturges, abode New Street, in Plymouth in 1840 who must be James' wife (he was a widow by the time of the 1841 census, living in New Street). She is exactly the right age for Margaret from Harberton.
There also seem to be no other Margaret 'Esall's even of a different age who might have married James. Hence I am confident that the marriage was of Margaret from Harberton.
