Margery
Set As Default Person -
Name Margery Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Gender Female Property Wye, Kent, England
- When Margery died she left property in both Wye and Boughton-under-Blean. There is no indication of how she acquired this property, i.e. whether any or all was from her husband's family.
However, part of Wye parish adjoins both the parishes of Molash and Godmersham - Molash where I think it quite likely that my ancestor Hercules' father was from, and Godmersham where there had been Hills (quite likely ancestors) back to the C14th.
Residence 1544 Boughton under Blean, Kent, England
Will 2 Mar 1544/45 Written Died Between 2 Mar 1544/45 and 23 Mar 1544/45 - Between writing her will and it being proved
Probate Between 3 Mar 1544/45 and 24 Mar 1544/45 Consistory Court, Canterbury, Kent, England
- Since the will is dated 2 Mar 1544, which probably indicated the year starting 25 Mar, so 2 Mar 1544/45, and the will is with those proved in 1544, it would seem to have been proved before 25 Mar 1545.
Buried Ss. Peter and Paul’s Church, Boughton under Blean, Kent, England
- I am assuming here that the George of Boughton under Blean who left a will in 1562 was the son George named in Margery's will. Since he requested burial in Boughton churchyard beside his mother, but did not mention his father, it may suggest his fahter had been buried elsewhere, possibly before the family moved to Boughton.
