      Although there were several Samuels of a similar age, one was in the Plymouth area, another married the previous year and so it seems probable that this marriage was of this Samuel. A Mary who could have been his wife died the same quarter as the son of this marriage which would have left him free to marry again, as this Samuel clearly married in 1848.
