  	Nora was the adoptive mother of Beatrice Goatham, probably from shortly after Beatrice's birth, certainly by the time of the 1921 census. Though by then married, Beatrice (and her husband) were with Nora at the time of the 1939 registration. The latter suggests that the adoption relationship worked out well. (Nora and her husband Albert appear to have parted company betwen 1911 and 1920, I don't know whether before or after Nora took on Beatrice. Hence Albert may or may not have been very briefly a father figure to Beatrice. Possibly it was the need for some extra income that led her to 'adopt' Beatrice.)
