  • Name Thomas EASTLEY
    Relationshipwith Teresa Ann GOATHAM
    Born Est 1609
    • Link to father - named as son in his will. His brother Richard was the residual beneficiary, so probably the eldest surviving son; estimated dob from that, and also from the date of marriage of Frideswid who I believe was his daugther (she wasy if he was the Thomas who was buried in Marldon in 1670).

    Married
    • Were this couple the parents of John and Richard? - there were Johns buried in Marldon in 1637 and 1642. Seeing the abstract of the will of the John who died in 1637 will hopefully clarify, although as Wilmoth had already died it might not be clear if he was her husband, and in addition as the Richard who married in 1624 is not likely to have been the Richard baptised in 1607 it may remain unclear, i.e. both Johns may have had sons called Richard.

    Married
    • Evidence of two daughers, combining Thomas' will and PRs as sources. In his will Thomas mentions Terpin and Peter grandchildren, not surprisingly given the married names of his two daughters, but also a grandchild 'Julian Hannaford'. Daughter Frideswid seems only to have married once, but Elnor could have married twice. Was her first marriage to a Hannaford? Or did a Julian born a Peter or Terpin marry to a Hannaford before her grandfather wrote his will? Julian was almost certainly a granddaughter; the name seems to have been used as an alternative of Gillian at this time, both sometimes being recorded in different records for the same person.
No marriage record found for a Terpin or Peter to a Hannaford, or for the birth or baptism of a Julian / Gillian HANNAFORD.

Unfortunately some of the relevant events, may have occurred in parishes in which few or no records survive from the Civil Wars and/or Interregnum period.
