  • Name William NUTE
    Relationshipwith Teresa Ann GOATHAM
    Born Est 1585
    • Rough estimate of date, based on dates of baptisms of known children. However, with just two known dates, with most BTs for the possible years missing, they could be the younger or older children of a large family, besides possibility of William being of average age at marriage or an older widower; hence quite a rough estimate.

A Stephen Newte was buried in Lewtrenchard on 30 July 1631, most likely a close relation of William, probably father or brother (BT image on FamilySearch).
    Gender Male
Protestation oath 27 Feb 1641/42  Lewtrenchard, Devon, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • A list of those who took the Protestation Oath in Lewtrenchard in 1641 includes both a Stephen Nute and a William Nute.
(image on the parliament archive website here).

The list is not ordered alphabetically, or with all with the same surname together. The fact that William and Stephen are listed one after the other suggests that they turned up to take the oath together; William being listed before Stephen suggests he was the senior of the two - likely Stephen's father, but could be an older brother.
    Died Aft 1642
    • After he signed the protestation oath.
