"Aug: 29th Richard Dunkin"
There seem to be no Dunkin families living in St. Nicholas-at-Wade at this time; maybe Richard's mother and step-father were living there, or he had moved there for work.
There seems to be no other Richard whose burial this was likely to be, nor any other event (marriage or burial) likely to be that of this Richard.

- It seems probable it was Richard, George's son from Chartham, who rapidly married, had a family and died in Minster. Dunkin was not a common surname, though there were quite a few in Margate, but no sign of a Richard. There had been no Dunkin events in Minster for about 60 years when Richard's parents married there, and there were no more until the marriage of Richard. Richard's mother was from Minster so his links with the parish may have led to him meeting Hannah and/or settling there. He was not his father's eldest son, so less likely to take over from him in Chartham.
