    • With such an unusual name as Skeer BEACON, and with the surname from his father and the Christian name from his mother, so it was not a long-standing family name, and with the match of date and location there can be no doubt that the marriage licence and PR entry are for the same event.
      However, the licence as recorded by Cowper and the PR entry data as transcribed by the KFHS differ in a couple of significant ways.
      The licence data shows Catherine as a widow, the PR entry as a spinster.
