    • (Research):In 1665 there was a burial in Smeeth: 0315 1665 08 21 Anne TERRY Wife of Augustine (KFHS transcripts).
      Clearly this can't be the wife of Basil's son Augustine as he was only baptised in that year - so was he named after an uncle? - i.e. did Thomas and Maria (or Thomas with a different wife) have a son Augustine?
      On 1 May 1575 an Austen TERRY married Mary WYNTER in Chartham (Tyler's notebook, image on Ancestry) - the earlier Augustine referred to could be this one or related to him.

      Cowper's 'Canterbury Marriage Licences' (1st series)show that there was the following:
      "Terry, Augustine, of Cant., woollen draper, and Frances Oore [Woer in
      Transcript], s. p., v. At St. Mildred's, Cant. July 19, 1615.'

      There was a marriage licence in 1623:
      "Terry, John, of Cant., clerk, widr., about 28, and Abigail White of S. Peter's in Sandwich, v., about 20, d. of Mr. Harcin White, clerk, parson of S. Peter's aforesaid, who consents. At Northbourne. Jan. 28, 1623." (Cowper's 'Canterbury Marriage Licences', 2nd series) - was this a relation? Did Maria Becon marry Thomas due to clerical links?
