In Maidstone in 1871, the marriage registration index shows that that was where his parents had married in q1 1867, with Elizabeth marrying as Elizabeth Richards. Although William's birth registration being in Dartford RD is a surprise his father was born in Erith, also in Dartford RD. This makes it clear that 'Kingsdown' must be 'West Kingsdown', not either of the other Kingsdowns in Kent.)
