  	* POSSIBLY not this Thomas SWAN * From FreeReg Thaxted shares a significant part of it's parish boundary with Little Sampford, so in the absence of a Thomas Swan baptised in Little Sampford it seems likely that this was the baptism of  this Thomas. Looking for a baptism in Essex on FreeReg, FamilySearch and the non-conformist registers (index on Ancestry) as at 16 Jan 2016 it is the only likely Thomas, and it also appears that the Thomas baptised in Thaxted did not remain to marry or be buried there. However, a Thomas Swan married a Mary Bridgeman in 1783 in Thaxted. Was that the Thomas who was baptised in 1755? Of course both brides may have married the same Thomas but I have not found the burial of wife Mary. It is important to note that not all non-conformist registers survive, or the PRs may not survive for the parish that this Thomas came from. (more research needed)

  Notes	I suspect Thomas may have come from somewhere other than Little Sampford. Not found other Swan's than my direct line and their offspring in Little Sampford, and not found Thomas' bapt (looked back to c. 1743? - image 48 on http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk/ ) A Thomas, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Swan, was bapt in Thaxted 28 May 1755 (Thaxted is about 3 miles from Little Sampford).
