      More specifically a journal published in 1968 (The Journal of the British Ceramic Society, vol. 5)  shows he was at one time the 'Chief Compressor Mechanical Engineer' for Rolls Roycle Ltd. of Derby.
      Only having seen the snippets (in Google Books) it is not clear if that was his position in 1968.
      He had written a paper "Gas Turbine Compressure Blades of Composite Materials" and a paper or article "Composite Material Gas Turbine Compression Blades".

      The 'Society of Automotive Engineers' journal vol. 78, issue 2 (1970) includes a few pages by him on 'Design Considerations for Large Fan Blades' (p.1397 ff). (snippets on Google books)
