Obituary 22 Nov 1890 - In the Exeter and Plymouth Gazette of 22 November 1890:
"The funeral of Mr. William Trant, of Ash, Stoke-
fleming, who died on Saturday afternoon last, took place
on Thursday in the parish churchyard, and was very
largely attended. The deceased was widely known,
and highly esteemed for his kindliness of heart and
thorough good nature. He took a deep interest in all
matters affecting the welfare of agriculture and the
properity of the district. He held several public offices,
and at the time of his death was a member of the Kings-
bridge Board of Guardians, an ofice which he had held
longer than any member now sitting on the Board. Mr.
Trant was 71 years of age, and a widow and a numerous
family mourn their loss."
