William Henry MANN
Set As Default Person -
Name William Henry MANN Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born 3 Nov 1876 Paignton, Devon, England
- GRO ref: Q4 1876 Totnes RD 5b 161, actual date from naval records
Gender Male Military Service 1901 Royal Navy - A Qual. Signalman at the time of the 1901 census, when he was
homeward bound near Plymouth on HMS Undaunted
Residence From 1901 to 1903 54, West Hill Road, Mutley, Plymouth, Devon, England
Residence From 1908 to 1911 Pensilva, Cornwall, England
- When his children were baptised
Died Yes, date unknown Notes - Free BMD showed Ethel married Wm Henry Mann or Harry Taylor; there were no other Mann-Lands marriages 1890 to 1911 but a child was born in 1911, surname Mann, mother's maiden name Lands so must be son of Ethel and Wm Henry Mann.
I'm not sure I have the correct Wm Henry Mann as there were quite a number but this one stands out as the most likely - appropriate age and only one who appears in the right part of the country at the right time. And in the navy like Ethel's father, which may be how they met.

Despite the gap in children between 1903 and 1908, the 1911 census shows that up to that time Ethel and William had only had the 3 children who were still living.
The inclusion of mother's maiden names in the birth index from 1911 suggests there were no other children born after 1911.
