The Old Font in Kingston Church
Whether the baptism took place in this font I don't know.
This font probably dates from when there was first a church in Kingston. It was rescued in 1775 from being used as a feeding trough for pigs, but not restored to use as a font in Kingston Church until 1931. I didn't see another font which may have been used after this one was thrown out, the date of which could have provided a clue as to when this was replaced. Some family baptisms may have been sufficiently far back to have been in…Gender Female Buried 25 Feb 1829 St. Nicholas’ Church, Thanington, Kent, England

"Margaret Harris No. 127., abode: Chartham Kent, buried: 25th. Febry. [1829], age: Yrs. 76, ceremony performed by J Crowther Curate"
Patriarch & Matriarch
Richard BAKER, bur. 22 Dec 1791, St. Giles' Church, Kingston, Kent, England
(Father)
Mary, bur. 7 Sep 1780, St. Giles' Church, Kingston, Kent, England
(Mother)
Notes - Though I have shown Richard and Mary as the parents of Margaret I can't be certain.
Given that Margaret married in Kingston in 1773, a birth in Kingston in 1753 seems very plausible. But with a surname like Baker and the amount people moved around there could easily be other possibilities in neighbouring villages.
Also, the fact that a Richard Baker was a witness at Margaret's wedding adds weight to this theory.
