I have a DNA match with a descendant of daughter of Thomas, brother of my ancestor Elizabeth, my brother has a match with a son of the same Thomas - suggests I probably have the right parents for my ancestor Elizabeth, i.e. a William and Ann ADAMS, althougth it is possible I link to Thomas in a different way.

I can't be sure that the Wm and Ann Adams who had the family at Bishopsbourne were the Wm Adams and Ann Browning who married at Ickham.
HOWEVER, the evidence does point to it being them.
Clearly there were, as expected, a number of couples called William and Ann ADAMS in Kent around this time. Looking at baptisms of children soon after the Ickham marriage recorded with these parents names there were families in Leeds, Bexley, Broomfield, Lydd and, closer to Ickham, Margate and Bishopsbourne. The Leeds, Bexley and Broomfield couples can be easily dismissed, as they were having children before 1775, as well as being an unlikely distance from Ickham. Ickham to Lydd is about 30 miles ... Margate about 14 ... Bishopsbourne 5 miles village to village, but the nearest part of a deatched part of Ickham to the end of Bishopsbourne is less than half a miles. In addition to the distances making Bishopbourne the most likely, a William Adams married Ann from the parishes of Winchelsea and Icklesham in 1774, parishes adjacent to Lydd. In 1776 a William ADAMS married an Ann in St. Laurnce in Thanet, an adjacent parish to Margate - almost certaily the parents of the children baptised in the latter.
There seem to have been no other marriages of a William Adams to an Ann within 20 miles of Bishopsbourne in the 10 years prior to the first Bishopsbourne baptism.

There are 2 queries:
1. was the Ann who my Wm Adams was married to a Browning?
Need to do a more thorough search of Wm Adams marriages to an Ann in the area (I have tried tracing the Browning tree a little in case it yields info. e.g. is there a Browning will referring to Ann by her married name?)
2. Do I have the right parents for Ann Browning?
In Ickham at this date few marriages showed bachelor or spinster etc. One in 1774 did show a bride, who was 'of this parish' as a widow; the only 2 not too distant in time that show a bride as spinster she was from another parish. The lack of any description may suggest she was a spinster.
Both were otp. Witnesses were Thomas Cotton and John Denn. John Denn(e) was a witness to most marriages - probably parish clerk. Who was Thomas Cotton? - is there a clue as to whether I have the right Ann Browning marrying Wm Adams. (see notes attached to Ann Browning for more info about the 2)
There was another Adams - Browning marr: Ann Adams to Edward Browning, banns read in Bishopsbourne, both otp, 1782. Ann Browning had a brother Edward b c 1751 (NS) but there was also an Edward b 1758, both Ickham.
