I could have switched this Martha and her grandmother, though a baby dying fairly soon after birth and an older person dying in the middle of winter seem the most likely.

Have seen the entry in the PR (on microfilm, in the CCA) - Elizabeth's surname given there as Hull, not Hall as in one IGI entry (other shows Hull)There was another Thomas in Canterbury, who married in 1794 and had a large family. It seems likely he was a son of Thomas and Elizabeth, but I haven't found his baptism (nor his burial, which might indicate when he was born).
