    Notes
    • (Research):What became of Emma?
Emma is not found with her parents in any subsequent censuses. In most cases such an absence is because a child had died, but I can find no death registration for Emma, nor a burial in the Canterbury index, between 1841 and 1851. Have looked for surname Rose as well as Fuller, in case accidentally registered with her mother's maiden name. Have also checked the original index (as transcribed on FreeBMD) and the GRO online index. Looked for forename Em* in case recorded as Emmer or other variant.
Although births weren't always registered at this time, deaths generally were in order to enable the burial. Possibly a death was registered but there was an error when the local death registration was or should have been copied and sent to the GRO.
Alternatively, possibly Emma was informally adopted by another family member, as sometimes happened at this time.

    • From the PR entry  (image on FMP, viewed 23 Jan 2018)

Shows George Fuller, bach of Bridge, Peggy Rose, sp otp, both made their mark; witnesses were Wm Hodges (a witness to many - probably the Parish Clerk) and Sarah Keeler (both witnesses signed)

It looks like Peggy and George had a joint wedding with Peggy's brother William, who married Jane Keeler. Same date, same place and William and Jane had the same witnesses.
