- I suspect Susan died as a TAYLOR, and with such a common name it is difficult to be sure which entry is hers, but the most likely seems to be this one in Holy Cross, the parish in which the family were living when Susan's husband George died.

Family 1 HARRIS, d. Bef 1676 Married Bef 1676 - Trying to find a marriage of a Susan(na) who married a HARRIS or HARRISON and where the Susan(na) could be the one who as a Harris(on) widow married Edward Goatham is proving difficult.
With Susan being 'of Herne' at the time of her marriage to Edward that is the most likely parish for [Blank] HARRIS(ON)s burial, but there is none which appears likely to have been his. Possibly they were living elsewhere and Susan moved to Herne after being widowed.
Although I have not found a burial, there is a will (to be seen) of an Adam HARRIS, a husbandman of Herne, written 1675, proved 1676. This has to be a possibility but there was a marriage of an Adam HARRIS to a Mary GRAY, both of Chislet in 1674; that would appear most likely to be the Adam whose will it was. Seeing the will should answer who his wife was.
Looking for Harris or Harrison children with a mother's name of Susan (and variants) shows none particularly likely.
A 'Dannell Harryson' marred 'Sewsan Leavett' in Canterbury in 1655 and had a daughter Mary in 1656 - death of Daniel not found, so likelihood of it being this Susan not clear.
A William Harris and his wife Susanna / Susan (née May) had children baptised in St. Andrew's Canterbury from 1667, but continued having children after the widow Susan married Edward Goatham, so widow Susan can't have been the Susan wife of William.

The PRs for Reculver and Herne both record the same marriage on 24 September 1676. I have seen the PR images for both and both appear to be original records, and are in the correct place with respect to other entries. The handwriting is different in the 2 registers, so it was not the same priest taking marriages in both and forgetting where the particular marriage had been.
Although the registers were a priest's responsibility, sometimes the task devolved to the Parish Clerk. I wonder if the Clerk entered the marriage in one register where it did happen and then the priest forgot the venue and entered it into the other? I will see if I can find out if the same priest was looking after both parishes at this time (though even if he wasn't, he might have helped out a neighbour)
The entries are slightly different:
in Reculver - "1676 Edward Gotham of Hoath & Susan Harrison of Hearn married Sept: 24 : 7" (I don't know what the last 7 means - was there a 6 after it i.e. the year repeated? - it is on the page edge so could have been lost in rebinding or just in the photo)
in Herne - "Edward Gotham of Hoath & Susan Harris wid mard. Sep 24"
Marriage entry in Herne register shows Susan as a widow, doesn't mention Edward being a widower.

Marriage not in Hackington nor Swalecliffe PRs, but there are no marriages in Swalecliffe PRs between 1678 and one in 1688 - are some missing (on the same page so no suggestion pages are missing, and different handwritings so it doesn't appear to be a transcribed version of older PRs)? Also, PRs for Hoath miss marriages for a few years including 1688.

Marriage License 12 Sep 1688 - "Taylor, George, of Westgate, Cant., yeom., widr., and Susan Goatham of Hoath. At Hoath, Swalecliffe or Hackington. Sept. 12, 1688."

Susan would have been a widow by this time so able to remarry, and I haven't found another Susan who could have married George Taylor at this time.
