  	Place from the 1851 census. This shows Mary as being aged 82, i.e. born 1868 or 1869, but I suspect she was probably born in 1771. Although she could have been baptised late, the transcribed data suggests there is no note in the register as might have been expected and in addition she was recorded as being aged 15 when a settlement certificate was issued in 1787.

  Notes	Mary's husband John Bridges was witness to the wedding of Mary's sister Elizabeth in 1799. I believe the Headcorn baptisms were for children of this Mary and her husband because when their son Stephen died in 1825 there was a removal order for his widow and young children from Bredgar to Headcorn. FamilySearch shows several other baptisms that could be for children of this John and Mary Bridges but I suspect were for other couples - a George in Gillingham (1812), John and Isaac in Maidstone (1813 and 1816) and George and Eleanor in Chatham (1814 and 1817). (Research):For some time I hadn't found clear link between John and rest of family other than he was the right age and married in Bredgar, and her husband witnessed Elizabeth Prior's wedding. Now seen KFHS index to poor law records and that confirms she was the dau of John and Amy, plus found her bapt at Langley, where John and Amy married.
