Although no parents are named I think we can be fairly sure they were Nicholas and Dorothy. Nicholas and Dorothy had married in June 1632 so it is probable that they would have had a child around the time Bennet was baptised, especially as they then had children born at c. 2 year intervals from 1635 to 1643

    Notes
    • (Research):Name and nationality
Ben is a Dutch female name, I've not found evidence of it as a French name, Halloue also appears foreigh, so I did suspect that Ben was Dutch or had Dutch forebears. However, with her name given at marriage as 'Bennet Hollaway' and at baptism as 'Bennet H[o/a]lliwaye' it appears much more English. (Bennet is found as primarily a female name in Kent at this time, and in my family not too unusual, though I suspect it may be due the continental influence on names found in this part of England, presumably due to the close proximity and to trade etc. and some merchants settling here).
It is also interesting to note that the will of an Elyn (or Hellen) HALLOWE of Appledore (Kent) was proved in 1509 and of an an Alice HOLWEY of Canterbury in 1498, i.e. before the Walloons came to England, suggesting Hallowe may be a variant of Halliway or Holloway etc.).

      Which Bennet HOLLOWAY?
My ancestor Bennet HOLLOWAY was probably the one baptised in Canterbury in 1633, but it would be good to rule out the one baptised in Chislet in 1634. I suspect that one was the one buried in St. Nicholas at Wade in 1637. St. Nicholas at Wade parish sits between Chislet (to the West) and Birchington, where the parents of the Bennet baptised in Chislet were married (to the East). Given the place of burial it is unlikely to be co-incidence, but without more evidence it could be an older Bennet, who the one baptised in 1634 was named after, e.g. a grandmother or aunt. However, if I have the baptism and family of the right George Holloway, then his mother was not named Bennet, and he did not have a sister Bennet, adding weight to the burial being the infant Bennet bap. 1634.

      Burial:
22 May 1637 at St. Nicholas' Church, St. Nicholas-at-Wade, Kent, England
From BTs (transcribed data on FS, viewed 20 Nov 2022)
Only shows her name, Bennet Holloway, not whether a child or parnets name(s).
The PRs only survive from 1653, so can't check them, but there may be more information in the BTs - to check.

    • From 2 entries on FamilySearch, both transcribed data from ATts and BTs. One entry is shown as being at Holy Cross, Canterbury, though this is the first church on the film and FS often wrongly shown the first church.
The other entry does not specify which of the 3 on the film it was.
One other church was on both films - St. Andrew's, so this is the only other possible church.
