These wills have been filmed by the LDS and can be viewed at the Canterbury Cathedral Archives or the Centre for Kentish Studies.
For many of the wills both register copies and the original survives; the index shows this.
Usually wills are proved in the lowest level of court possible; this would be the Archdeaconry Court unless a persons possessions were in more than one Archdeaconry. The next level was the diocese - whose court was known as the Consistory Court. However, in Canterbury Diocese until 1841 there was only one Archdeaconry and whether a will was proved in the Archdeaconry or Consistory Court depended on the parish they lived in, as shown on this page.
