    • From DP info
Two burials of George's in Sheepstor, in  1731/2 and 1749/50 - there was a George bapt 1695 but he must have been the George who was churchwarden in 1735 so can't have died 1731. There was also a George baptised in Meavy, also in 1727; I suspect that he would have been buried in Meavy had he died in 1731 (a sister was buried there and another born there in 1731). Hence I think it was this George buried in Sheepstor in 1731.
However, I would have expected it to be recorded as "George the son of Richard Northmore", whereas it is just "George Northmore" so I may have it wrong and the picture may be more complicated

    • Also on DP transcripts - has Mary's surname as Widporn

Whi(t/d)borne was a common name in the Bishopsteignton area, i.e. the area the Northmore / Narramore family moved to Sheepstor from, but rare elsewhere.
There was a Mary Whitbourn baptised in Tavistock Abbey Chapel (Prebyterian) in 1698, daughter of Richard and Jane, but there was also a Mary Whitborne baptised in Bishopsteignton in 1696, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth. (images of PR entries on FMP)

In 1721 there was a lease and release between Richard Whidborne of Dawlish, yeoman and Thomas Whidborne of Sampford Spiney, tanner regarding the property Foxsham in Sampford Spiney, suggesting a fairly close relationship between the two men. Had Thomas moved from Bishopsteignton?

At present the Whi(t/d)bornes are on the edge of my tree (and my ONS) and I am not actively trying to work out how Mary was and the links between those in West Devon and the Bishopsteignton / Dawlish area.
