Name Boys OWER Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Baptised 12 Oct 1572 St. Andrew’s Church, Tilmanstone, Kent, England - From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 22 Oct 2015)
"C The xii daye of October Boyse Owre was christend" - under heading '1572' (no parents names given)Tilmanstone was about 10 miles from Minster-in-Thanet, 11 from Canterbury, 2 from Eastry
Gender Male Property From 1594 Gore, Eastry, Kent, England - According to 'Liber Estriae or Memorials of the Royal Ville and Parish of Eastry' (Shaw, William Francis, 1870):
"Gore, a small farm consisting of a messuage and 21 acres, belonged, in 1576, to the family of Ower. In A.D. 1594 Richard Ower settled it on his son Boys Ower, who by will, in 1623, bequeathed it to his three sons, Edward, Matthew, and Thomas [sic - 3d son actually Boys]. Edward and Matthew, the two survivors, in 1641, conveyed the premises to Richard Harvey, of Selson, gent., whose grandson Robert, with others of the family, conveyed it in 1735, to John Paramor, Junr., of Sandwich, and afterwards of Statenborough, gent., from whom it passed to Wm. Boys, Esqre. It now forms part of the Statenborough estate." (the whoe book online)
Boys may not have actually lived at Gore, he and his mother were both 'of Canterbury' when they died, but with a Boys Ower who I think was probably this one being baptised in Tilmanstone, close to Eastry, he may have spent his early years in or near Gore.

Mary RINGLEY, bur. 13 Feb 1571, St. Andrew’s Church, Tilmanstone, Kent, England (Grandmother)Notes - (Research):Despite the unusual-sounding name it cannot be assumed that a reference to a Boys Ower (or Owre) in the right time period is a reference to this Boys. 'Boys' was this Boys' mother's maiden name, which probably led to him a nephew as well as a son with the name, but there was another Ower = Boys marriage, that of an Alexander Owre to Margaret Boys, parents of a Boys Owre who was at one time Mayor of Faversham. I expect this is not conincidence, but this families being on the fringe of my tree I have not studied this (and have no plans to do so). Margaret and Elizabeth appear to have been second cousins; I have not attempted to find out how Alexander and Richard were related.

Family Agnes LYSTER, bap. Feb 1585/86, St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church, Appledore, Kent, England , d. Between 20 Mar 1639/40 and 5 May 1644 (Age ~ 54 years) Married 7 Oct 1599 St. George the Martyr’s Church, Canterbury, Kent, England - From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 22 Oct 2015)
"Boys Ower & An Lyster were maried the 7th of October" - under heading 'Mariages Ano dni 1599'
A note beside the grant of administration for her father's will, added the year after (27 Nov 1600) records that by then Agnes had married Boys Ower. Hence Agnes must have married between May 1599, when her father wrote his will and Nov 1600. Although the PR entry shows An not Agnes it therefore seems almost certain that this was an error and the marriage was of this Agnes.
More supporting evidence is in the bonds which Boys Ower provided, one of which records him as a gentleman. Agnes' family seem to have been on the yeoman / gentleman borderline, so Boys' social standing is consistent with what we would expect. Added to which, I have now seen the wills of both Boys and Agnes, both refer to William Halke as brother-in-law, and in Agnes's William's wife Elizabeth and son Norton are also named, showing that it is the same Halke family (William and Elizabeth are obviously common names, but I am not aware of another Norton Halke).
