    Cause: Hydrocephalus
    • Unlike all his other siblings, Walter was not named in is father's will, so had probably died by the time it was written. In addition, he was not with his parents and siblings in the 1871 census, suggesting he had most likely died by then - and this death registration fits (there was no other Walter Cook born in East Kent who would have been aged 0 at this time, judging by birth registrations)
      GRO ref: Cook, Walter q1 1868 aged 0 Milton RD 2a 443
Details from death registration (GRO register entry)
Although the place of death is shown as Hysted Farm, rather than Hysted Cottage where the census shows the Cook family as living, Hysted Farm is also shown as Harriet's abode (Walter's mother was the informant), so I think this was referring to the farm as an address, so including the cottage where the Cook's lived, and did not mean the farmhouse.
