This is the only birth of a Jessie in any of the Liverpool Reg Districts to have a birth registration that is consistent with her date of birth.
Hence I think I have the right Jessie providing Jessie was born in Liverpool (and the dob was correct, though as it comes from two sources it probably was)..
Her parents and siblings as shown here are based on the assumption that this is correct. Really need her father's name from her marriage to confirm this, or a baptism showing dob.
Gender Female Residence 1939 66, Butler Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England - Jessie and her husband were not living together, at the time of the 1939 register, when she was living with their daughter (and he was with his parents, and would re-marry before the war was over). Their divorce suggests this had been the norm.

I don't know which brother Jessie was living with; there were too many William E and Peter Jones in Liverpool to make discovering this easy.

Dec Q 1909, Liverpool Reg Dist, Lancashire, England (Age ~ 48 years) Married - Marriage of William and Alice not found - no marriage found of a William Jones to Alice Burns, suggesting that Alice was probably a widow when she married William, no marriage of a William G Jones to an Alice A, suggesting one or both did not use their middle name when they married (not uncommon) and far too many William Jones to an Alice marriages for me to have worked through the possibilities so far (i.e. an earlier marriage of an Alice to someone of the surname under which she married a William Jones, with the death of the first husband before she remarried, etc.) - this is somewhat peripheral to this tree.
Also, there are other possibilities - did either or both marry with their Christian names in the reverse order, or away from Liverpool, or did they not marry at all?
My main interest was to see if I could find any clue that might confirm that it was their daughter Jessie rather than another Jessie who married Matthew Gotham - * so far I have not been able to do this *
Most of the children shown here are found with William and Alice in the censuses. The one exception is John Coates, whose middle name and match on not just year and qtr of birth registration but page too suggest he was a twin of Peter. There were other births of children with the surname Jones and mother's maiden name Burns in Liverpool that could be children of William and Alice, but I don't think they all were, rather that there was at least one other Jones = Burns couple; I haven't made any attempt to research this (and don't plan to).

Divorced May 1943 - A notice appeared in the Liverpool Evening Express on 21 May 1943 (p.1, col. 4):
"On the ground of desertion by his wife, Jessie Gotham, a decree nisi was granted in the Divorce Court, today, to Matthew Gotham, of Pugin-street, Kirkdale, Liverpool, thre being no defence to the suit.
The couple were married in April, 1924, at Toxteth Park, Liverpool. The husband's case was that they spent the first week at the house of his wife's brother in Sutler-street, Liverpool, but not liking that arrangement he discussed with his wife their having a home of their own. She said she preferred to stay where she was and the husband went back to his parents to give her time to think it over.
On two occasions he provided accommodation for himself and his wife but each time she refused to leave the brother's home."
(I suspect Sutler-street should be Butler Street, where Jessie was living at the time of the 1939 register, although no brother was then present) - Decree nisi granted
