    • When he wrote his will
    Died 1637
    • His wife Wilmoth described as 'wife of' rather than 'widow' in the burial register so her husband died after 31 May 1636.
A John Eastley of Stantor in Marldon died between writing his will on 10 Arp 1637 and it being proved on 17 Oct that year.
It seems proabable that the two were the same John.

Being of Stantor points to him being the father of the Richard with the family and death as shown, as his will indicates he held the lease of Stantor.
    Will 10 Apr 1637
    Written
    • Survives in the form of an abstract made by Miss Moger

    • From his will; according to his probate inventory he died owning 'bullocks and kine' valued at £40.
Other farm stock are lumped together with household goods in Miss Moger's abstract; there may have been more detail in the original but if so that is probably lost to us (unless some other transcription or abstract should be found somewhere).

Family Wilmoth,   bur. 31 May 1636, St. John the Baptist Church, Marldon, Devon, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    Married
    • Were this couple the parents of John and Richard? - there were Johns buried in Marldon in 1637 and 1642. Seeing the abstract of the will of the John who died in 1637 will hopefully clarify, although as Wilmoth had already died it might not be clear if he was her husband, and in addition as the Richard who married in 1624 is not likely to have been the Richard baptised in 1607 it may remain unclear, i.e. both Johns may have had sons called Richard.
