Gives groom's name as John Evans Pepperel so I'm sure it was this John.
(a John had also married in West Alvington in 1818, to a Jemimah; was this an earlier marriage of this John? Possibly, though I haven't come across burial of Jemimah and middle name Evans not mentioned. More likely the marriage of John son of Wm and Amy, baptised 1796, although witness was a Robert Pepperell. Family witnesses most often young people - may be it was a cousin, possibly the Robert brother of John Evans)
