    • Ideally would see marriage cert to check this (i.e. that the marriage involved this Samuel). Marriage not in index parish marriages on FMP, so it would mean buying the cert. I think it was him because the date fits, better than for the other Samuels, who were or were probably married at the time, and didn't have so close an association with Tavistock RD. Also, assuming that Elizabeth was the one who died in 1857, her burial was in a cemetery in Tavistock, which suggests she was living there, and this Samuel is the only one who was living in Tavistock - and he was there in both 1851 and 1861.
